Scholarship in France

THE SCHOLARSHIP SYSTEM IN FRANCE

On an annual basis, the French government and industry partners offer students the opportunity to apply for a scholarship in France to continue their academic education in the French republic. Some scholarships are awarded to students who hold at least a bachelor’s degree and that want to study for a master’s degree or doctorate in France. All disciplines are eligible (human sciences, economic and social sciences, arts, law, biology, technology, mathematics, chemistry, computer science, political science…).

The status of scholarship students in the country also provides coverage of social and health insurance costs and reimbursement of tuition fees in case of university studies. Candidates are selected initially on the basis of their files and then at an interview. The main selection criteria are an excellent academic record, the motivation to study in France and the student’s personal qualities. Scholarship can also be delivered to student that wish to study abroad to promote student mobility. Students from all over the world are welcomed in France every year thanks to one of the many great scholarship programs Europe has on offer.

SCHOLARSHIPS AT INSEEC

For students from other European countries or students from the rest of the world that wish to study at one of our universities in France we offer multiple solutions so that our education programmes would be as accessible as possible for international students

The “Admissions” service on each campus (Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon, Chambery) can inform students about the different ways of financing their studies and, after identifying their needs, refer them to the appropriate services so they can complete their applications. A discount for tuition fees exists for specific cases (siblings, etc.) and students can opt to pay tuition fees in instalments. A social solidarity fund makes it possible to distribute financial aid, based on socio-economic criteria and merit. There is also an endowment fund which helps deserving students in particular difficulties (partial or total payment of tuition fees). Finally, nearly 600 students that study at our institution complete all or part of their course under an apprenticeship programme or professionalization contract. It’s possible to have a total coverage of tuition fees by the company and minimum remuneration of the student at 80% of the local minimum wage). Student associations, “job services” and the Junior Entreprise, on each campus, offer to carry out specific missions for companies. The school also regularly calls on students or student associations to carry out specific assignments, in particular with the admissions service. This helps to stimulate young talents to apply and excel on a various number of levels during their personal and professional development.

DIFFERENT POSSIBLE TRAJECTORIES

Since its creation, the INSEEC fellowship has implemented a policy of scholarships and reduced tuition fees, which is reflected in various actions: not only is there the collaboration with Campus France but INSEEC’s solidarity fund gives new opportunities to hundreds of students every year. The conditions to benefit from it are based on social criteria and on merit criteria, after presentation of a complete file with elements justifying the situation (explanatory letter, scholarship notification, tax notice, academic results). In addition, there is an endowment fund that was created a few years ago, which grants specific scholarships to the most deserving students in management, science, sports, etc.

To apply for the INSEEC apprenticeship programme, you must first and foremost be admitted to the main list at the end of the competitive entrance exam, which gives you the right to apply for this programme. Once you have been admitted, you will be informed of the date of a general information meeting. A pre selection based on pedagogical criteria is made on the basis of a file. The candidate is then accompanied his search for a company and in the finalisation of his/her project, within the limits of the places available to the larger public.

In the 2nd year of the Grande Ecole programme, a professionalization contract is offered.

On the INSEEC campuses, the professionalization contract formula is offered over the three years. No criteria are imposed other than finding an interesting contract that will allow the student to finance part of his or her education and to consolidate his or her professional experience. Finally, the possibility is offered on the 3 campuses to complete the course of study under an alternating internship agreement.

Participation in the various special sessions organised by each year’s class, with prizes awarded to the winners of these sessions (Back to School Seminar, Green Business Week, Digital Innovation Challenge, Strategy 360°). The best theses are awarded each year with regular proposals for publications or assistance in developing projects/businesses.
